This is outside of my wheelhouse, but I noticed that your IG art looks like it's made by a completely different person. I'm not sure that's a good idea, it might lead to confusion down the line if you're trying to make a name for yourself in the kids illustration realm and someone sees that rather than your website, or tries to find you on IG. Maybe it doesn't matter if you want to work exclusively with an agent, but I feel like it might be limiting your visibility.

@LauraA I know your struggle! I have hosted my website over IONOS, it's a German company, for a few years now. 29,90 € a month. I know, it's a lot, but they have a great customer service. I have my own consultant, that I can call whenever I have problems with my website. Right now I am redesigning my website and building a Webshop and that guy has been my savior . When it comes to logos for artist, I would go for something simple. Maybe just your name in a nice font, you feel represents your art and art style. If you want to check out my website and logo for reference it's www.aisleen.de On the topic of your URL I like lauraarlandart.com, but laura-arland.com or laura-arland-art.com are more legible. So I would go with one of the latter. I went with just my first name, because as far as I know I am the only one in Germany with this name and my full name would have been too long.

@Nyrryl-Cadiz Has already made good points and I'll just add a couple more- The picture of the boy in the pool at the top of your portfolio page- it looks like you took a picture of your computer screen. To me that doesn't look very professional. I'd photograph or scan the image properly if you are going to include it. I kind of want to see your name be a little bigger at the top!

@lora_chaudavis Thanks, I've really enjoyed drawing the little plant critters lately. All part of a world I try to go to help me come up with things to draw so I'm not sitting there staring at a blank page. There is so much that goes into game design, it's unreal how much you have to think about. But like anything, the more you flesh out that world even if you don't see it all, the better it will be. @Nyrryl-Cadiz Thank you!

@jsnzart In my opinion though, I think it's still vital to have one. It shows your client that you are invested in this job that you're willing to pay a few bucks to get yourself out there. Of course, there are social media platforms but a personal portfolio website just says professional.

@Lovsey I think that's a great idea! I'm just not the one who can do that--I think that's the SVSLearn folks. I'm just a moderator--we don't have the capacity to pin posts and such. On top of that, I think others know the inner workings of the site a lot more than I do. I think a clearer and more thorough tutorial could be made than I could assemble... @Chip-Valecek ?

Just going to speak from my own experience, but I really like what you've done here, if it gets you drawing, go with it. One of the things that has helped me out significantly when it comes to having those moments of not knowing what to do with that blank page in front of me was to just draw something that's in front of me. That chair, that stapler, those trees, one of our cats. Whatever, it's sometimes not the most exciting thing in the world, but that's not the point. The point is to start drawing, and to start to allow my mind to warm up and transfer over from my day to day into the mode of creating. This also happens to be a very good exercise as drawing from life is an outstanding form of practice and you will see a lot of improvement in your abilities from it. Of course if you want to draw something more imaginative you may need a project or a propt list, or just start turning the things you see into creatures or something. I've kind of solved this by creating a very loose world in my mind that I can visit. It's simply just a forest, an extremely large forest filled with whatever my mind comes up with. The more I've done this the more little creatures, plants and even story ideas I find myself developing out of it. Will it go anywhere? I don't know. But it's fun.

Can you please give input on the composition? All you bookcover pros out there I need to take that class. Thanks. Of course it still needs the fine tuning but as far as the composition? there will be stars in the top background and sky blue on the bottom. Watercolr. The lettering will be white or light colored in my mind. Thanks!
